Ingredients

  • ¾ pound lean ground beef
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust with fluted edge
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup light sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian herb seasoning, optional

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook ground beef and onion in skillet until browned. Drain fat if needed. Place meat and cheese in pie crust. In a bowl whisk together milk and cornstarch. Whisk in sour cream, eggs, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning until blended. Pour mixture into shell. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.

Note: If using a frozen pie crust, a deep dish crust will be needed.
