Ingredients

2 teaspoons butter

1 small clove garlic, minced

4 slices whole-grain bread

2 slices mozzarella cheese

2 slices Monterey Jack cheese

2 slices sharp cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix butter and garlic.  
  2. Spread butter/garlic blend over one side of four pieces of bread. On the unbuttered side of two pieces of bread, lay 1 slice of mozzarella and 1 slice of jack cheese. On the remaining two pieces of bread, lay 1 slice of cheddar and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Carefully transfer all four slices of bread onto the skillet butter-side down and grill on low heat until bread is golden brown and crunchy and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes.  
  4. Remove from the skillet and sandwich the two pieces of bread together to make two sandwiches. Cut each in half and serve warm.

 

Tips:

If using shredded cheese, it’s best to shred it yourself. Pre-shredded cheese has a coating that prevents easy melting.
