Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon 

  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg 

  • ¼ teaspoon salt 

  • 1 tablespoon sugar 

  • 3 eggs 

  • 1 ½ cups whole milk 

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract 

  • 8 slices challah, brioche or white bread 

  • Butter for frying 

  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs, vanilla extract, sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon in shallow dish.
  2. Dip bread slices in the egg mixture, turning to coat both sides evenly.

  3. Buttering the pan first, cook bread slices on lightly greased nonstick griddle or skillet on medium heat until browned on both sides.  
  4. Place in the oven to keep warm while cooking the remaining slices.
  5. Top with your preferred ingredients, including powdered sugar, and enjoy.
